This was my 4th visit to Sterling Kanha.I am a pioneer Sterling member and a retired Professor of Engineering. We visited as a family group comprising of two families(total 4 persons). We checked in on Feb 25 and checked out on 28th,total 3 nights stay. This being our 4th visit,we planned it as an absolutely leisure trip, staying most of the time in the resort.
On way to the resort, we had to take a detour through the village, from the main approach road,as road construction was in process. We were guided by the signboards installed by the resort.
Check-in at the resort was smooth as managed by the front desk lady, madam Sudha Patkar,a pleasant smiling personality. We were alloted room nos. 105 and 106,the studio rooms on ground floor. The rooms are well maintained, I may rate them as 3 star. All the toilet accesories, two bottles of drinking water,tea/coffee/milk/sugar satchets were stocked and were regularly replenished on the successive days.Linens were clean.
The resort premises are well maintained. It gives the feel of staying in a resort and not like staying in a hotel.Plants and trees are ample in number and nicely kept. There is a small pond also.
One morning , we went for a jungle safari.Could sight deers, wild boars, bisons but no tiger. We also went for a nature trail in the adjoining river, the other morning. Also, visited the sunset point.Witnessed a marvelous sunset. The crooks misguided us about the approachabillity of this place by road. They advise you to hire a gypsy. We went upto the pont by our car.No need to hire a gypsy.Perhaps, they are trying to frame up the things so that the tourists are tempted to hire gypsies at exhorbitant charges.Do not fall prey to them.Except jungle safari, I think most of the other nearby places worth visiting can be approached by car.
The naturalist at the resort is a make shift person and has no knowledge. The indoor activities need a boost.
The food was excellent.Kudos to the chef Shri Deenaram and his team. The ‘achari bheendi’ and’stuffed karela’ were a real fist.
The Genaral Manager of the resort Mr Chirag Laroia gave us a special audience and appeared to be kin on further improvement and excellence.
