Me, a small French expatriate in Pondicherry, I came there 5 or 6 times in the summer, but at the end of September, when the first rains fell on Auroville, I thought to myself that it would be exotic to be above the clouds. My friend who knew Ooty only with old Hindi romantic movies, joins my trip. There are many hotels but we booked the Sterling Elk Hill because it dominates the whole city and the panorama is sublime.
We were surprised to see many families with children, there is a reason that we appreciated, the days and evenings are always lively inside the residence. A film projection room, a play area for adults and children, well-being rooms for massages and fitness, and when the weather permits, organized outings outside.
The staff is very attentive and always anticipates your wishes, the meals are traditional for this kind of tourist complex. We appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the servers, a big thank you to Sijo Mathew among others and Senthil Kumar who allowed me to have water lilly plants that I was desperately looking for.
It must be said that the various gardens surrounding the residence are extraordinary, the gardeners told me that they had maintained these beds for more than 20 years,
After a week we came down from the queen of the nilgiri with the promise to come back next summer.
