A heritage place with recent extensions. It is supposedly the summer palace of the King of Dinajpur. The place is very ethnic with almost all modern facilities. Only thing, is they dont provide wifi to the rooms, which is restricted only to the lobby area. But the initial feeling of inconvenience, later seemed to be a boon, We wanted to be relaxing and staying away from all the noise of city life. The stay was more enjoyable by a superb service from the staff. Mr.Boudha is a wonderful human being, and really practices all traits of Buddhism, something he observes from his heart. Last but not the least, Babban – who attended to us mostly, is the most professional and caring attendant we have rarely met with in any hotel. It was our visit in the off season, with practically lowest possible occupancy. We loved our stay with special request breakfast served at the lawn – enjoying tea and breakfast facing the Kanchanjagha. In the old building, one of the rooms has a good view of the moutain. But otherwise, try for room 31 if you want a great mountain view from the bed.
If relaxation is your purpose to be in Kalimpong, this is the place to be.
