We decided for Kalimpong on our trip in Darjeeling and Sikkim to avoid the long drive from Darjeeling to Gangok and we did not regret it. The city is small and has not much to offer. We visited a flower nursery and a manual paper factory and a beautiful monastery with Kanchenjunga view. The gardens are well kept and the veranda is the place to relax and enjoy a tea or a drink. The hotel has a decent restaurant and a bar. On demand they serve lunch also on the veranda. The rooms are rather big and with lots of windows. The bathroom was of designer style and had exceptionnel white and fluffy towels. We liked this place and the welcoming and helpfull staff and could recommend it.
