With my sister-in-law living and working in a different city, once she was home , the entire family wanted to do a quick family vacation. We identified that we did not want to drive too long on the road nor did we want to repeat the usual suspects of Coorg/Ooty/Yercaud.
When Yellagiri was decided as the Go-To place, we zeroed in on Sterling. We hoped it would be a clean and comfortable, with good service. Sterling, went above and beyond. Here is a brief summary:
1. Service: After staying in multiple 5-star places, I can comfortably say that the service was on-par(even above par) in Sterling Yellagiri. All our room service requests were acknowledged within minutes and completed as soon as possible. Even when we requested plates and cutlery to be cleared at 11:45 pm in the night, housekeeping was polite, efficient and courteous. We were celebrating a birthday, and we hadn’t planned for a birthday cake beforehand(oops!), Front Desk arranged a cake for us from the town below the hills and got it delivered for us! They even gave the cake at 11:45 pm, to cut the cake on the birthday eve!
2. Food: We couldn’t do a buffet for the 2 nights , however, all our orders were In-Room dining. Prices for food items were average, however, food quality and quantity were excellent.
3. Room: Rooms were above average, hot water was always available and beds were comfortable. Option of both AC and fan for those unbearable summers! TV did not have too many regional channels subscribed, however, you aren’t on a family holiday if you want to watch TV!
4. Amenities: Holiday activity room could be improved with a few more activities( X-Box/Play-station/novels/Magazines. You will get a cricket bat, stumps, problem is where do you play? Something to look at. Three of us utilized the spa, honestly, nothing great to rave about. 1 hour of relaxation for your stressed muscles and nerves.

Overall : A great place to visit with your family to relax and rejuvenate. My recommendation: Go for it!
