Sterling Yelagiri is a wonderful hotel mainly because of its staff!
Strategically located just 2 kms away from the main Yelagiri road, this hotel has the potential of becoming a great resort like the other Sterling Resorts in Ooty, Yercaud, Munnar etc. I feel Sterling Holidays should infuse funds to convert it into an excellent resort. What it needs is more open space around.
The management has tried its best to provide good amenities in its central courtyard like a swimming pool, open Badminton court and a DJ stage. The hotel also has well maintained indoor games like a Table Tennis table, hexagonal carrom board, chess boards etc.
The Resort Manager Sukesh personally looked into our comforts, provided us a good room on the 3rd floor with a balcony. Room No. 1309 was our room with a good view.
The restaurant is the resort’s USP with a wide & tasty buffet spread for all meals. The Restaurant Manager Kumaresh was excellence personified with his charming demeanour, always enquiring with us on the quality and variety of dishes. A special mention of the Head Chef Shahool Hameed for planning each meal differently and his team for cooking up delicious dishes and not too spicy either. Continental, Indian and Pan Asian – all there to suit your palate. The restaurant staff were ever too friendly, smiling and helpful. Augustine and Vishnu were regular faces, serving us with a smile. I think we over ate thanks to all of them, God bless them.
Can’t forget the Housekeeping staff either. Exemplary and punctual service whenever called on. Sandeep from Housekeeping was another memorable face, always ready to serve with a smile.
