We travelled to Sterling Resorts at Wayanad, during Diwali time and experienced a great holiday.
The location of the resort couldn’t be more perfect. The resort is located on the periphery of the Wayanad Tiger Reserve, with access to Bandipur and Mudumalai reserves, just a few hours away by car. Hence, the resort is in the lap of nature and away from urban sprawl. We were three families who managed to get away from the noise and air pollution of Diwali days, by staying at the serene Sterling Resorts.
The resort is not masive. yet it is splendidly green and organised in a way that provides illusion of space. The accomodation is in villas. We had a spacious one bedroom villa that was neatly organised into a living room, kitchen plus bathroom and bedroom. The living and bedrooms each had window sills that served as ‘sit out’ for some very nice views of the greenery outside. The furniture, storage space and lighting were more than adequate and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with running hot water, a good shower and quality toileteries.
The dining area is beautifully designed, bright, cheery and spacious. Chef JK and his team served us some truly remarkable food, with lots of variety and consistent quality. There were enough options of local food, which made dining a great experience. Food is definitely a highlight of the resort.
The recreation room had a Pool table which kept us busy through the day. We did not use the big sized swimming pool which is set at a higher level in tranquil surroundings.
The entire team – front office, house keeping, buggy operators, kitchen and dining area staff – was very well trained and efficient. We will visit again.
