firstly, we went with 2 teenage kids and my 68 year old mom. I was a bit skeptical that my mom won’t enjoy much , but the story ended well in a completely different way.
1. It is an amazing hill station and hence mobile networks may not work well. If you are a BSNL or JIO customer, no worries. Others, you can enjoy privacy as mobile networks hardly work 🙂
2. The resort – It is at the highest point of Yercaud and hence you will have breathtaking views, awesome climate all round the day and night .
3. Service – Right from the moment we entered the resort till the time we checked out, we were treated like their family with extra care and continuous attention with a smile. I remember some names but i won’t be fair if i don’t say that all of them did an amazing service any time.
4. Food – My main worry was food as my mother doesn’t eat garlic and we are vegetarian family. I just told one of the restaurant staff on day1 that my mother doesn’t eat garlic. From that point, he remembered her and everytime we went to have breakfast lunch and dinner , he personally ensured that she get piping hot vegetarian food without garlic. All of us might have gained few kilos weight after eating that yummy food. Kudos to the chef. Even the desserts were finger licking good. We felt sad that we are leaving that cafeteria on the last day of our stay. Such was the taste and quality of food there . I heard from fellow travelers that non veg food is also equally tasty.
5. Room Service – Excellent. I may have one suggestion that room cleaning staff shall clean when we are outside and not after we return. they have fixed time between 2 to 5 PM it seems. Which was a bit uncomfortable for us as we had to step out for 20 mts after a tired day , so that they can clean it. Otherwise no complaints at all.
6. Off Road safari – Do NOT miss this if you are visiting Sterling Yercaud. My 68 year old mother enjoyed the most of this forest off road jeep drive. They arranged multi lingual driver so that it is easy for us. It is an amazing experience for all age groups, going through those dirt roads in an AWD jeep and enjoying coffee plantations and pepper plantations from close proximity , going through the villages and seeing the end point of sun set view as well as sun rise view of Yercaud.
7. Overall, i would say 9/10 for the experience we had there during our stay. even the billing has been very transparent and all the staff have been very friendly. May June October November will be busy times it seems. Go during these times to enjoy the place as well as the hospitality. Thank you Team Sterling Yercaud. Hope other locations of Sterling also are at the same level of hospitality. Would love to visit all the Sterling resorts slowly but surely.
